The desert sky feels closer, brighter, and clearer.

This ancient place, at least by the standard of America, dates back to the 1500’s. As you search the faces of the people, you’ll have a hard time separating the Hispanic from the Native American, the product of centuries of meshing together.

Experiencing Santa Fe can feel a little bit like falling in love. You know that this person dazzles you, but you can’t put your finger on exactly what it is about them that lights your fire. In the case of Santa Fe, as you slow down and start to take in what’s different about this magical, mystical place, a picture of romance tinted by the sepia tones of centuries comes into focus."

This excerpt from an article I recently wrote about Santa Fe expresses how I feel about writing travel articles and taking photos. It's a little bit like falling in love - and I can't put my finger on what is dazzling me, but I know that it definitely lights my fire.

But I don't have to think long to know that this passion goes back to my childhood, which was spent growing up in the Philippines and Pakistan and other worldwide travels. I was bit by the travel bug early, and once you have got it, there's no getting rid of it.
